E-Cell SGSITS conducted Ideathon along with Department of social science and CIDI.
Ideathon, as the name suggests, is about generating, developing, and evaluating ideas for launching innovative and viable new ventures. It entails a process of discovery designed to lead towards the creation of dynamic and impactful enterprises, whether business or social ventures. The event was conducted in teams of 2-4 students. More than 100 students registered in the event “Ideathon”. Shortlisted 26 teams participated in the event conducted on 22nd February from 11 am to 5 pm. Top three startups were selected and the winning teams got the perks of incubation and mentoring from Startup cell and CIDI. The team that stood first (AASSAN) along with his team members. The startup idea was to make a contribution in the direction of conservation of nature by management of paper waste and used paper products by reusing them to make useful products namely bricks, paper-seed pens and home decor products; by a process that aims at the upliftment of rural women, marginalized and disabled. The second winning team was implementing algorithms for face detection in the image to build a system that will detect image of students and recognize them. While the third team (Team SmiLight). Their idea was to help manage traffic in case of events such as jams, creation of pathways for events such as green corridor, and traffic-free routes for VIPs, which is currently done manually with the help of traffic policemen. This would also create a new job role for traffic management engineers, with strategic planning to efficiently control traffic centrally in such occurrences. They also wanted to provide some interface such as an app, RFID tag, or some sensor to ambulances, so they could have traffic cleared in their lanes at upcoming signals, and stop the rest of the traffic, together with announcing the arrival of the ambulance.

It aimed at bringing students' start-up ideas on common platform, at institute level and facilitating eligible ideas with mentorship for prototyping, validation and launching of enterprise by the Startup Cell to foster entrepreneurship. Incubation of eligible idea holders at CIDI with fabrication of lab facilities of additive manufacturing technology, IOT, free TEQIP sponsored trainings etc. were the takeaways of participation.
ONE DOLLAR VENTURE was a two-day long ground event organized by The Entrepreneurship Cell of SGSITS from 30 September 2019 to 1 October 2019. A team participating with minimum 3 and maximum of 5 members could set up their own venture, in the college premises or anywhere in Indore. The main objective of event was to develop the entrepreneurial spirit among students, facilitated by earning maximum profit with a minimum investment. The ideas by each team were submitted and later presented for a better insight and appraisal. SGSITS faculty Dr. Neeraj Jain, Head of Humanities department judged the whole event. The judgement was based on social awareness, natural cause, future scope of venture and other considerable options. Rounds in the activity were -
E-Summit being the flagship event of E-Cell is held annually and brings together the academic community, venture capitalists, new age entrepreneurs and all those passionate about entrepreneurship to common grounds. It provides a platform for potential students and enhances the raw talent among the youth of the city. E-Cell successfully organized E-Summit'19 and infused a wave of entrepreneurship at S.G.S.I.T.S. The events held under E-Summit were- Get Funded, Fireside chats, Mind your business, E-Cell, Start-up expo, and several interactive and innovative Workshops and competitions. A reverent panel of Speakers, consisting of Mr. Vinay Dalal, Nishita Tripathi, Mr. Karanvir Singh and Mr. Mayank Batra was invited to acknowledge the students and motivate them through their journey of entrepreneurship

E-Talkies commenced with the motive to manifest entrepreneurship spirit of young minds with the screening of the movie 'October Sky'. Around 300+ students were present in the screening and appreciate the opportunity.
A ground event cum game to get acquainted with practical business life. Each participant was provided with their own stocks and money to churn up their mind and make deals with fellow members to create maximum assests.
It was a day long event in which 3 eminent marked their presence. All of them talked about their journey to a successful startup and gave the attendees an insight of the entrepreneurial world.
